He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest- a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. Then tells how, at times, her mindset is replaced a few hours later by thoughts of the "I just can't take this mind-numbing drudgery and redundancy of entertaining preschool children for another minute! In her clear and engaging way, Sarah Napthali takes us on a journey through the challenges (and the pleasures!

Firmly grounded in the day-to-day reality of being a mother, Buddhism for Mothers discusses Buddhist teachings as applied to the everyday challenges of bringing up children. Even if exploring Buddhism at this busy stage of your life is not where you thought you'd be, it's well worth reading this book. Buddhism for Mothers opened my eyes to a completely different way of looking at parenting, and at everything.

I'm only starting the book and I'm already aware and mindful :) of course it needs a bit of practice but it feels so good already I feel more patient, less upset when they misbehave and that makes me handle situations a bit calmer. Meditation for mothers: because sometimes the only way to escape your kids is to close your eyes and focus on your breath. I have given it to many mamas as a gift, I've re-read the first installment twice and am looking forward to re-reading the last installment as my second heads to school in a few years. Mothers can find inspiration from history and other Buddhist mothers and create a support system with other mothers who share similar values.Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh answers heartfelt, difficult, and funny questions from children of all ages. Detachment doesn’t mean a lack of affection or attention, but accepting that everything is temporary. I'm looking forward to reading more as I think it's really helping me to be a calmer mum and hopefully as a result, show my children how to be calm too! When children feel heard, seen, and understood in their own ways, they naturally look to their parents for guidance. Additionally, embracing impermanence and letting go of attachment to outcomes can reduce stress and anxiety.
