The Seekers were awakened on the Fera Islands in 1939 and were reformatted as World War II-era fighter planes. Alongside such familiar faces as Starscream and Skywarp were also several unidentified Seekers. The Line Trial by Fire They joined up with Cobra with the rest of the Decepticons, while the Autobots allied themselves with G.I. Joe. Transformed Trial by Fire They held a strong animosity towards the Aerialbots in particular, and fought against the combining Autobots. Wolves All of the Seekers that awoke on Earth were defeated by the Autobots, though the Decepticons managed to score a few fatalities of their own, including Superion. Trenches The Iron Fist The Masterpiece line as a whole won the 2016 Long Life Design award (PDF link) presented by the Good Design Awards.
This figure was also redecoed with a different new face into Mecha Nations Skywarp, with whom he was a 2015 Toy Soul exhibition exclusive. Like the original, this mold has been redecorated and retooled numerous times. In addition to the original six Seekers, it has also been issued as Acid Storm, Bitstream, Hotlink, Nacelle, and Sunstorm. In addition to its original release in Classics, the various uses of this mold have occurred in the Henkei!, Universe, Generations, Timelines, Shattered Glass, and United toylines. Versions of this mold have been mass retail releases, store exclusives, specialty exclusives, convention exclusives, and fan club exclusives. Sunstorm participated in battles against a variety of opponents, both Autobots and Decepticons. Sometimes there were many of him! He was a Super Rare character who could be recruited by collecting 450 units of Cybermetal, 155 units of Transmetal, 90 exclusive cores, and 7 cores of this character. Transformers: Battle Tactics The Rainmakers later accompanied Megatron to his meeting with Exarchon. Unforgivable As Starscream outlined his plans to regroup with the scattered Decepticon cells, Acid Storm felt compelled to point out that they were holed up in Metrotitan's corpse which Starscream claimed made for a good metaphor. As part of his power play with Starscream, Megatron sent gladiators to kill many of the Air Command's scientists to finally take control of Trypticon away from the Seekers. Exodus While the null-rays can be wielded by his pair of hands, it's almost impossible for him to properly hold them due to the size of his forearms.
When the project was conceived I was mainly working on the products for the overseas Hasbro market, but was given a chance to develop a Masterpiece for the domestic market irregularly. Created by Kids Logic, this super deformed G1 Skywarp is a redeco of Mecha Nations Starscream with a new face. He stands 6" tall and is articulated, featuring a shiny metallic color scheme, removable armor and replacement hands. He also features LED light up eyes, Decepticon insignias on his wings, null rays and thrusters in his feet, for use when he's "hovering", mounted on the included display stand. In this iteration of the Autobot/Decepticon conflict, it seems all the Decepticon possess the Seeker body-type. There are also innumerable amounts of them. The Transformers: Battle to Save the Earth A redeco of Alt-Modes Starscream, Sunstorm is a super deformed toy whose body transforms into a jet when the Decepticon faction symbol on his head is flipped. He was blind-boxed and available in one of the first three cases of the toyline.The figure is reported to suffer from heavy quality control issues, most commonly mentioned are the joints and hinges being incredibly weak. As a result, Starscream's wings are difficult to keep in place in robot This mold was also used for the Masterpiece version of Skywarp. It was also redecoed and retooled to create the eleventh Masterpiece figure, Starscream, which was then redecoed to create Sunstorm and Acid Storm. This mold was originally developed for Generation 2, but was canceled when that line went under (see previous entry above). As the Ascenticon Guard began recruiting members directly from The Rise in the aftermath of the Tether's destruction, Acid Storm reunited with his old teammates Ion Storm and Nova Storm. Elita-1 noted this was a clear statement of military intent, and warned Soundwave that everybody would know it. His missile launchers can mount under his wings, on his shoulders, or in his fists, and fire spring-loaded projectiles. The large size of his launchers (necessary for safety reasons) restricts his arm movement somewhat in robot mode, as they bump into his wings. All three Rainmakers have slight tolerance issues with the white parts, making key joints juuuuuust a bit too tight.
