Hydrangeas will only produce blue flowers in acidic soil, and if your hydrangea is blue and you haven’t made any changes to the soil, it’s most likely because the soil is naturally acidic. Acidic soil will yield the best results, but if you don’t have this you can double the proportions of Hydrangea Colourant. The easiest way to change the pH, so it’s more acidic is to add aluminium sulphate in powder or liquid form.When I changed the soil pH to between 6.5 and 7, those same hydrangeas started to turn pink or red, and at 7 or above, they were a deeper red and more vibrant pink.
