About this deal

Carbontex washers only need to be very lightly smeared with Cal's grease or your favourite drag washer grease We are asked by the majority of our customers to fit them to their reels when we are servicing them at Jim's Reel Shop. They can be used dry, or with a very light coating of Cal's drag washer grease. Cal's grease gives the washers a smoother drag release, whilst losing some of the top end drag. A greater drag is achieved without grease, though the release is not as smooth, than with the drags lightly greased. Again, it's a combination of bearing oil, centrifugal brakes and line level/diameter that produces the goods. The '20 has a spool where the width is less than its diameter, so the first 50 or so yards of line coming off during the cast will not reduce the overall diameter enough to achieve much natural braking.

With its ultra-fast retrieve and short-stroke clutch, the Daiwa Slosh ensures a smooth casting ability, making it ideal for sea fishing and beach fishing in the UK. Its lightweight design, combined with the robustness of the Sealine series, makes it a favourite among anglers. Frequently Asked Questions The Daiwa Slosh stands out in the Daiwa multiplier range due to its unique combination of the SL-H/SG-H series features and the Sealine's durability. It's a perfect blend of performance and longevity. Jim's Reel Shop Service & supply NEW parts for ABU, Daiwa, Penn & Mitchell fishing reels Accessories Product

Anybody who knows me knows how highly I have rated the various Daiwa SLOSH 20, 30, 40 and even 50 models for many years now, indeed I have a lot of them here (SVs and originals) and they have done me proud for ages. I have two original SLOSH 20s, at least eight SLOSH 30s, one SLOSH 40, and we have used the SLOSH 50s a lot out in Namibia for the big sharks that are taken off the beaches. The secret to these reels is to set them up correctly - if you do that, they are about the safest, most reliable multipliers we can get our hands on. And what about these new Saltist 30H reels I have gone and bought ? In my mind they are basically what the various SLOSH models were going to become one day with a bit of thought - and that day has arrived. The SLOSH has always suffered slightly from ropey handles (I have broken loads) and a gearbox that gets in the way a bit when you cast, indeed I know of some anglers with small hands who simply can not use the reels for distance casting. The Saltist though is a real breakthrough - essentially it is the size of a Penn 525 Mag or even an ABU 6500, yet it has a true 7000 or SLOSH 30 size spool and strength to size ratio that we need. The gearbox is now slightly forward and out of the way and the handle is far better. Of course the reel has a 6.1 retrieve ratio and masses of cranking power to get fish up fast. This reel has been designed with four ball bearings for a completely smooth operation season after season, helping also to reduce the friction creating an incredibly smooth wind. Using a five point support frame design Daiwa have been able to increase the durability and toughness of this reel which allows it to stand up to the harshest saltwater conditions without losing out on performance.

It can be a tight fit, so use the appropriate end of the spool spindle to jiggle it out. Once out give it a wash in lighter petrol, allow to dry and set aside for re-oiling along with the other end bearing. Line level for 18lb type line needs to be 3mm below the spool lip., plus leader. With something like 30lb straight through I would tend to load it a gnats higher and have a few casts with a plain lead to get it bedded in. By which time the level will be down to 3mm or so below the lip which is ideal. When it comes to fishing, every angler knows the importance of a reliable reel. Introducing the Daiwa Slosh, a masterpiece from the renowned Daiwa Sealine series. Crafted for both beginners and seasoned professionals, this reel promises unmatched performance and durability. Features of the Daiwa Slosh Series Absolutely! The Daiwa Slosh is designed to cater to both beginners and professionals. Its user-friendly features make it a top choice for those new to fishing.Yes, the Daiwa Slosh is versatile and can be used for both live-bait and jigging, thanks to its specialized design and features. Tuning for both the SL20 and its larger brother the SL30 is very similar. The wider SL30 with greater line capacity can be a bit of a handful, but tuned sensibly with the right line diameter can be transformed into a pussycat. New Carbontex !
