About this deal

And so, increasingly fighting his nervousness with rum, he hoped to get through the days before arriving at Point Comfort. For one thing was certain: he would not dabble in honest trade any time soon. It was just far too risky... It is inspiring and yet so striking that you have to like this combination if you want to wear the Aramis Tobacco Reserve. Performance is 5+ hours of longevity and decent sillage and projection. Not a beast-mode frag but certainly keeps up with far more expensive scents.

This is not a smoky scent. Tobacco doesn't burn here. No, Tobacco Reserve gives the aroma of the wrapper of a freshly made cigar. I really like him that far, too. I am sort of surprised, because Aramis fragrances in general appeal to a smaller demographic vs a lot of other brands, so they are selling less across the board anyway. So for them to discontinue Tobacco Reserve, they must have been selling next to nothing of this fragrance relatively speaking. As for when to wear, Aramis Special Bendis a glamorous autumn/winter evening fragrance that is well suited for dates, evening meals, theatre, fancy bars. Not a full-on clubbing fragrance, it’s more refined. At this point, I am really reminded of my late grandmothers garden where geranium always bloomed to beautifully. Upon dry-down, oakmoss appears first, yet is soon overtaken by a quality leather note that is both classy and refined. Like a warm and sweet smokey hug that warps you up and protects you from the winters cold. He isn't sexy or attractive, just a dark figure that disappears into the night. A ovely fresh spicy tobacco smell. It's surprisingly well composed and mature, herbal, smokey, masculine, elegant, clean, cozy, inviting and comfortably masculine. Performance is pretty good, although sillage and projection are not huge, yet longevity is a more than reasonable 5+ hours. As for when to wear, this spicy/sweet tonka bean and tobacco seems almost tailor-made for the chilly autumn and winter months. I would say better suited for later afternoon and evening. Very classy.

In 2019, Estee Lauder let go of Tory Burch, which has been taken by Shiseido, and closed its Becca and Rodin Olio Lusso brands. Of course, Spicebomb is mainstream and is heavily pushed by many (including Pirouette Man) on YouTube and Insta, etc., but the scent is just too sweet and can be described as a cinnamon-vanilla bomb. Aramis goes a different way here and creates a winter scent that is much more classy than Spicebomb extreme. Also for younger people I can only recommend this fragrance. For me the best winter perfume currently available for men. For this price you can't get anywhere near as good a perfume on the market. However I wonder if there is maybe a bigger problem outside of the pandemic and people not having the money to buy things like fragrances.Upon dry-down, patchouli and oakmoss provide additional punch, with woody notes coming into play once this scent has fully settled. In 2018, Aramis is launching a new woody aromatic fragrance with a strong tobacco note at its heart, Tobacco Reserve. Named for a character in Dumas' The Three Musketeers, Aramis is a classic American fragrance and grooming brand which was established in 1964 by Estée Lauder Company. Its first product was the legendary Aramis fragrance by Bernard Chant.

Tonka bean from the base rises after 30 minutes or so to provide a smooth but slightly dirty almond/vanilla note. Very suave smelling. With this fragrance, Aramis has probably released the best fragrance I have bought in a long time. Now I wear it almost every day in winter and it never gets boring because it is something special that you can't smell on every corner like One Million or Sauvage. The scent of fresh tobacco leaf and nutmeg, as well as tonka bean and currant is simply world class. And the best thing is that the perfume is available for an unbelievably good price in a department store that has already been mentioned several times in the statements. A smooth sweet tobacco (not the dark) sitting on a bed of warm and sweet tonka bean with a bit of spice&moss. The spiciness is fresh yet warm, dry and refined with the nutmeg and slight clary sage. The oakmoss is realistic and blends well providing the right amount of earthiness to add some masculine sex appeal, the tonka is nicely rendered here and not at all cloying or overpowering. It's a green from a night garden, fresh and ready to morning dew. It's not quiet, it speaks and you can hear it clearly, like a singer, you will hear it and it will enchant you with it's voice. Upon dry-down, a sensual base of rich, spicy (and slightly fruity) cashmeran becomes the star of the show, with cedar and warm amber close behind producing a rather luxurious finish. Although tonka bean is listed, I did not personally detect any.Finished in a dark glossy colour, the square design bottle storing this exotic, warming liquid, represents clean and crisp lines. I can still remember that my grandfather, probably more secretly, grew tobacco himself somewhere in a corner of the huge garden behind the house. The leaves were carefully threaded and dried after harvesting. Later the tobacco was cut and what did not go into the pipe was also rolled into cigars in cover sheets. That wasn't really the aroma of the noble cigars he used to get from a noble wooden box with leather cover. By the way, I know him almost only with a cigar in the corner of his mouth, and it didn't even have to be lit. As for when to wear, Aramis Voyageris a bright spring/summer/fall fragrance that works well as a daytime scent, either casual or formal. You would need to layer it with a woody/amber heavy scent for full-on nightwear. Aramis JHL opens with a refreshing burst of citrus and fresh aldehydes that can catch you by surprise. Spicy-sweet cinnamon is the most prominent heart note. It is soon joined by a floral trio of soft carnation, rose and exotic ylang-ylang.

The Tobacco Reserve starts very sweet with tonka and tobacco. Sage spices and nutmeg provides a very subtle spiciness. Fruity notes flashed briefly times and are then gone again. I would not have recognized currant. A little moss at the end and that's it. The initial sweetness becomes more bearable as it progresses, resulting in a finely balanced scent between tobacco and spices that also has a fairly good longevity. Smoky I do not find him thereby. If like me, you don’t love a full-on leather fragrance, then Aramis Modern Leatheris a brilliant choice. Released in 2017, this masculine fragrance injects herbs and green geranium into the mix that seems to calm the overall leather note beautifully. The tobacco aroma here reminds me of the somewhat hung tobacco leaves, no longer fresh but also not thoroughly dried. A blooming heart of rose, carnation and slightly bitter geranium effortlessly cast their magic. Upon dry-down, the animalic note of civet combines with oakmoss and a touch of patchouli to complete this sophisticated male scent.

Reviews

You can expect 4+ hours of performance with moderate sillage and projection. Pretty good price/performance, however, watch out as seems this particular scent is getting more expensive. Keep an eye out at any decent fragrance discounter. I remember when everyone was buying aqua fragrances and then that died out with some exceptions. Same sort of thing. Are people just moving on from tobacco fragrances beyond the ones that have been around for years? Obviously Burberry London for example isn't going away anytime soon and still sells well. Durability is excellent with decent sillage/projection and good staying power of 5+ hours. Excellent price/performance. Upon dry-down, leather provides the main base note, closely followed by oak-moss and a dash of sweet-smelling patchouli. A light combo of sweet tonka bean and cinnamon also rise after an hour or two.
