At one point he falls into bad company with Barry Kent and his gang, who had bullied him in earlier years, but generally he keeps out of trouble. The sale of customised goods or perishable goods, sealed audio or video recordings, or software, which has been opened. The diary format is sustained in parts, but goes all over the place, with updates no longer taking place every day but every other month.

Adrian Mole is an unforgettable character, but one that will resonate with many young people as they approach or reach puberty. The Growing Pains of Adrian Mole is the second book in Sue Townsend's brilliantly funny Adrian Mole series. He's still writing bloody awful poetry which, at 13 3/4 was amusing, it's rather less so at age 20 (and 8 months, which he still finds it necessary to add. He made his first appearance as Nigel in a comic diary in “Simply Magazine” and thereafter in a 1982 “BBC Radio 4” play.I particularly liked the part where Adrian's dad screamed on the phone to the school: "I've lost my wife, I've been made redundant from my job and you're suspending my son from school just because he wore red socks. A quote from one of the inserted newspaper clippings dating from December 1983 explains the relative scarcity: "The only two signing sessions [Townsend] has held have been in Leicester she refused to embark on a national tour. Other cancelled products: If you want to cancel products that are not damaged or incorrectly supplied, then you must inform us of this within seven working days following the date of receipt in accordance with the Distance Selling Regulations or otherwise as soon as possible. Frustrated, disappointed and undersexed, Adrian despairs until a letter from his past changes everything . He also claims that his life is still not as happy as he would like, but 'that is another story' – suggesting that there is another diary to come.

With a beautiful new package, this novel is perfect for long-time Adrian Mole fans or newcomers to the series. Just the unlikely fact that Adrian’s only published work (actually ghost-written by his mother) is ‘Offally Good! Adrian Mole: The Cappuccino Years is the fifth book in Sue Townsend's brilliantly funny Adrian Mole series.

Adrian is still corresponding with Hamish Mancini his American pen pal and at some point requests that he give back his diaries.

Her hugely successful novels include eight Adrian Mole books, The Public Confessions of a Middle-Aged Woman (Aged 553/4), Number Ten, Ghost Children, The Queen and I, Queen Camilla and The Woman Who Went to Bed For a Year, all of which are highly acclaimed bestsellers.

In the SIXTH book in Sue Townsend's hilarious and iconic series, Adrian, Leicester's most unlikely ex-con, faces the nit-infested reality of being a single parent . The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, Aged 13 3/4 is one of my all-time favorite series, and while I know not everyone will be able to appreciate the voice of this kid, I find that I just can’t get enough. Admittedly this is not a novel in the literal sense and the chronological layout rather than the simple chapters we are more used to could be offputting to some.
